why not instead of this kind of school we build sekolah wawasan where all races gonna be friends each other without prejudice.... dude. this kind of shit must be built since they are kids not when we are grown up when it is too late.... c'mon people dont be racist....

Mr.NickFurry, u said building racial/religion base school is racist????
u means those from sekolah agama are racist?

Anonymous said...

NickFury this is no joke. Stopping other races from learning/developing their mother tongue/ religion is totally RACIST!

SM Katholik is not a school to study religion. SRJK (C) is not a school for Chinese only. Please make sure your are properly informed before you make any comment.

SM Katholik is no different from any other SMK school in their curriculum after 1970s. The only different is that they have high reputation and producing high scorer each year.

Any SMK that has such high reputation will also be well received such as my secondary school in Kulim, SM Sultan Badlishah. Every parents (or students) in Kulim or for that matter southern part of Kedah hope to enrol to SM Sultan Badlishah. People in Kulim will be very pleased if the government build a branch of SM Sultan Badlishah to cater for more students provided that they too maintain the good reputation in the new school (or branch for that matter)

NickFury, please watch your words while you are commenting, i am guessing you are from one of the SRJK/SMK fella and you don't understand what the schools are like.

These schools are for all races, it welcomes all Malaysian, unlike MARA. Math for example is much efficient to learn in their own mother tongue. Ever wonder why Chinese are superior in math?

This is not a racism, people like you hindering it from being built are racist in fact. Education quality is the upmost to consider, and sadly most government schools don't have the education quality, and producing narrow-minded lads like you (who try to be open minded to ask kids to mix around but totally backfired yourself because you jumped to the gun without knowing what these vernacular schools are like, so unwise).

gents, please be relieved that i'm not racist....
yes i totally respecting your opinions of the must and the important of learning mother tongue or maybe religion...
the question is why do we need such separate school when all this kind things can be simply resoluted into a merely syllabus.... are all these three or five syllabus impossible to be taught in one school all races/religions system where mostly other syllabus are same and synchronise....
this thing is wasting money and can conclude of more of racial prejudice if not tension....
i also dont want racial/religion base politic in Malaysia just like you all.... but i guaranteed you this matter will not be resolved if we are not do something in our education system....
as i said before, all these racial prejudice can be avoided by simply abolish race/religion base school and at the same time there is nothing to lose where all these racial/religious subjects could be incorporated as syllabus in one school system...
cheers all.....

before it gets out of control, i would like to remind everyone that this discussion is about schools to be built here and not what kind of school suitable to build in Malaysia. Cheers

i do not understand why NickFury throw out the card of Race & Religion. No one mentioned about it before, only NickFury who use his/her imagination to accuse other people of racist/religion.

I too hope that a branch of SM Katholik will be built in the vicinity so that my offspring can study there. Mind you, i am not a christian. I only care about if my offspring can receive quality education in a reputable institution. If you can tell me a SMK in the vicinity that has consistently produced batches of high scorer and high passing rate, i don't mind sending my kids there.

NickFury, you sound very ignorant.
Can you substantiate your claim that the syllabus in SM Katholik is different from other SMK? My guess is that my jumped into conclusion of the "religion" right after you read the word "Katholik", no matter what the substance is.

Yes, for the SRJK (C), the syllabus is different from SK but what is the problem? I am aware that many so called malay educationists gave the reason of unity and blah blah blah. Ask yourself, is that for real? Or instead, is someone trying to hide the bigger picture of corruption in the country that tore apart the have and have not so that the issue of education is being used as a scapegoat?

Catholic High School is a "religion school" ??? OMG, katak di bawah tempurung....

NickFury said...

if catholic school is not religious school then why picked catholic as a name in the first place?.... why there is still interference of church of this school administration? why there is a big cross? are you stupid to ignore and pretend it is not religious school.... sorry i'm not here to offending you all..... if this is only matter of school name and nothing to do with religion, then this matter can be simply resolved by change its name....maybe smk tasik prima or whatsoever.... that' it...simple huh..... cheers..

NickFury, are you one of many of malay ignorant in this chinese populated puchong?
so shut your stupid mouth.
your brain have a big problem.

NickFury said...

people like you will continue racial polarization.... what' s different with BN?.... no solutions for racial intergration.... sk for malay, srjk for chinese, indian.... what's next? special kindergarden for chinese? malay? or indian?... or maybe neighbourhood just for malays, indians, or chinese? that is what you want, right?
ohh i forgot....it's already happening.... we might continue all these shit because we think we are not to be blamed but goverment faults...... bigger picture dudes....bigger picture...i dont want all these things happen to my children.....so as you i believe.....

Let me tell you why NickFury, we maintain the school name out of respect for the founders' contributions. And the second reason is our stupid BN government won’t allow us to build new Chinese school anymore, currently all the new one are from ‘relocation’ and ‘branching’ That’s why we have Ladang Harcroft and Yak Chee 2, Catholic High School 2. Pls don’t be so extremist in issue such as Cross, Valentine’s Day, pork, education, else u r separating yourself with the rest of the world, like that how to promote social harmony?

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Catholic_High_School_PJ

This is a school with history, please study.

This school don't preach.

"if this is only matter of school name and nothing to do with religion" Yes totally, my friend. :)

The school is super reputable for its high quality system, almost all the TV Hosts and DJs with great intelligence and great PR skills are from this school.

Branching from this school with the same system is needed. You don't call a branch from "Oldtown White Coffee" with the name of "Papa Nasi Kandar" , because they don't have the same food, same billing system, same drinks, ok ah, can get it?

NickFury, there is no racial polarization in these, never is. No race restriction are set on these institutions, not like MARA. I understand you see different picture, but we need to always see things from the other side, that is to understand the schools system and background, before you pull the trigger. Also, calling these schools shit is very unrespectable. Even you dont agree, please don't use bad words against them. ok ? I respect your opinion, you have your points, but let's discuss it elsewhere , not here.

NickFury, i am reading your comment with big sigh.

I suppose you are an educated person judging by your ability to write at least an "understandable" English.

But there are something very wrong with your thinking or your perception based on what you had commented.

You had mentioned before that it was no good if some parents prevent their children from mixing with other children with different racial background but I am very very surprise to see that a person with such mentality failed to see the real substance beyond the name. And i am appalled that you did not even understand the actual situation and the historical background of that school. i can only say that you are very ignorant.

Do you mean that the school should change their name simply because the name has a "Katholik" in it?

I have signed too and was at the site when Teresa Kok spoke. Having these 3 schools ie Yak Chee, Katolik and a autism centre is greatly overdue. There is nothing racist in pushing for these schools. FYI, i came from a school called BBGS (not torn down and Pavillion was erected) It was a school set up by missionaries but it is nowhere racist and forcing religion down the throat. Even royalties attended the school - would you think the Sultan, being the head of Islam, would allow their kids to go to such school if they are otherwise. Likewise, schools like Victoria Inst, Methodist Boys Sch, St John - all with "Christian" like names. I am 40 this year and i still keep in touch with Malay friends from primary school! For now, my son goes to Sin Ming - the top girl is his class is a Malay - and i told my son that is very respectable because she worked hard against all odds to rise to the occasion despite being "handicapped". All we are asking for is school who is well headed and well staffed with teachers who have a real passion for education, not js teachers who think that teaching is js another job. I am sure there are good teachers in the many schools in SMK, but unfortunately, too scattered to create an impact to building the next generation!

Reading what i had js written - too many mistakes - my apologies- i mean to say, "now torn down" and not "not torn down". " good teachers in SMK around Puchong and not "good teachers in the many schools in SMK" :-)
