Unused flyover near Cyberjaya collapses, no one hurt
PETALING JAYA: A flyover near Cyberjaya collapsed Thursday afternoon but no one was injured in the incident as the road has not been in use since December.
It is learnt that the collapsed flyover, an exit from the Elite Highway (KM P2.4) towards the Selangor Science Park 2, is managed and owned by the Selangor State Development Corporation (PKNS) and the road below it is managed by PLUS Malaysia Berhad.
According to reports on social media, the flyover collapsed around 12.40pm.
A main pipe running along the flyover also broke in the incident, sending thousands of litres of water gushing out.
PKNS is expected to release a statement on the collapse soon.
On Dec 9, the Malaysian Highway Authority (MHA) had diverted traffic at KM P2.4, at the interchange between the Putrajaya toll plaza and Putrajaya/Cyberjaya, on the Lingkaran Putrajaya stretch, to facilitate bridge inspection works.
