PUTRAJAYA, June 22 (Bernama) -- The National Registration Department will turned its counters into common use counters to enable the public to apply for passports from the Immigration Department.Deputy Home Minister Datuk Lee Chee Leong said the pilot project would start soon at NRD counters in Puchong, Kepong and Gombak.He said this was part of efforts to improve the work process and procedure in government departments and agencies."This will also help prevent irregularities and overcome weaknesses," he said when addressing the Home Ministry's monthly assembly on Tuesday.On crime reduction effort, he said the ministry would reactivate the safe city campaign in hot spot areas and launch the police station league table soon.He said under the league table system, police stations would be adjudged based on their performance in solving and reducing crimes in their areas.
